goodbye tegel.

i always like to listen to og berliners telling stories how different berlin was 10, 15, 20 years ago.

one example: people could still catch flights from berlin’s city centre at tempelhof airport until 2007. i was always kinda jealous to hear that they used an airport to go on vacation that is now abandoned and turned into one of berlin’s biggest parks. but now i get a similar chance to tell my kids one day that i used to travel from tegel airport close to the city centre (note: i am a very nostalgic person).

tegel will close down its doors forever at the end of october 2020. being nostalgic and always about documenting my life in berlin and how the city has been changing only in the last 4.5 years since moving here is one of my favourite things to do.

a while back i went to tegel and linked up with my friend layla to document a nearly empty airport when almost all flights from and to txl where cancelled or redirected to sxf.

one of the rare and last flights to tegel in october 2020.
